About

Why we built CodeDark Health.

CodeDark Health was created by engineers and hospital technology veterans who have seen firsthand what happens when EHRs and networks go down. Our mission is simple: keep hospital operations online when core systems are offline.

Mission & focus

CodeDark Health exists to safeguard continuity of care, protect patient safety, and preserve hospital revenue during outages, cyber incidents, and planned downtime.

  • Design an Offline platform that clinical staff can rely on in the worst-case scenario.
  • Support inpatient, ER, pharmacy, lab, L&D, EVS and billing from a single, unified system.
  • Export structured data back into EHR and billing systems with minimal reconciliation overhead.
Built for hospital operations Offline by design
From downtime workarounds to a dedicated platform

After multiple high-profile EHR outages and hospital ransomware events, it became clear that “paper downtime kits” were no longer enough. Hospitals needed a portable, secure, and structured way to keep recording care and services when systems fail.

CodeDark Health was designed in close conversation with clinicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and IT teams to capture what actually happens on the floor — not just what looks good in a diagram.

01
Patient safety first
Every workflow is designed to reduce risk during downtime: clear handoffs, legible audit trails, and structured records that survive outages.
02
Respect for staff time
We aim to be the easiest system in the room during an outage — quick to learn, easy to navigate, and fast to reconcile when the EHR returns.
03
Engineering for failure
CodeDark is built under the assumption that networks fail, Wi‑Fi drops, and VPNs go offline. The platform continues working when everything else does not.
